Press sightings

The AOA retains copies of all press and other material it comes across relating to the Fulmar, Atalanta and Titania, and indeed all of the sailing craft and dinghies made by Fairey Marine. Unfortunately this policy has only been in place for the past couple of decades, and much of the early material is missing.

The initial list linked below is abridged from a longer document compiled by a member, which reflected a wider interest based on ownership of a Firefly & a powerboat.

The AOA has copies, either original publications or photocopies of many of the articles listed here. Copies of articles that appeared in publications from the IPC stable (including Yachting World, Motor Boat & Yachting, Practical Boat Owner, Classic Boat) are available for sale - see www.ybw.com

Copyright still exists in all of the material listed here, so it is permissible to copy only limited amounts of material for personal use and research purposes. If any AOA Member wishes to read an article they cannot obtain otherwise, please send a private email message via this web site to A317, or alternatively consult the Hon Sec.

The initial list does not purport to be complete - almost certainly there is a great deal of Fairey Marine related material, both of a general nature and also relating specifically to the Fulmar and Atalanta from the late 1940s to the early/mid 1980 that is missing. For example, at present we have either very few or no notes at all, of articles that may have appeared in, for instance, the Cruising Association Bulletin, Yachts & Yachting, Light Craft, The Helmsman or more recently Sailing Today, The Boatman, The Yachtsman or Watercraft. The AOA would be delighted to hear of any such material you may come across.
